Token accounting

This section and the prompt caching rules below apply to Fusion Max and Fusion Code.

  • Input tokens: All context sent to the model in a request, including system instructions, user messages, conversation history, tool definitions, tool-call results, and other input content.
  • Cached input tokens: Input tokens served from Prompt Cache are billed at the cached-input rate. Cache misses are billed at the standard input rate. Cache writes incur no separate charge.
  • Output tokens: All tokens generated by the model, including the final response, model-generated tool calls, and user-visible reasoning tokens.
  • Tokens generated through Fusion's internal multi-model collaboration are not billed.
  • Usage is calculated from the usage data returned by the API, not from the amount of text visible in the interface.

Prompt caching

  • Prompt caching is automatic. Cache writes incur no separate charge and are not subject to a time-limited write requirement.
  • Cached content may be evicted by the system; no fixed TTL is guaranteed.
